Priory Rules

Please make sure you're familiar with the Priory's rules.  Maintaining compliance with the rules is essential for our use permit from the County and for the safety and happiness of all of our members.  A summary of the Priory's rules is provided here.  Members should familiarize themselves with all of the rules of the Priory set forth on the Members password-protected page.

Parking

In order to preserve the quiet residential character of the neighborhood surrounding The Priory and in order to minimize the amount of air pollution, noise pollution, and vehicle traffic which is generated within the neighborhood, the use of automobiles or other motor vehicles as a means of transportation to or from The Priory is prohibited.  Members and their guests are required to walk or bike to the Priory, and under no circumstances may members or their guests park in front of or directly across from the Priory on Laurel Grove Avenue or Hanken Drive.

These parking restrictions are required pursuant to the Priory's Conditional Use Permit from the County.

Use of Facilities Generally

Use of the premises and facilities should begin no earlier than 9:00 am and end by 10:00 pm, except that use of the tennis courts may begin at 8:00 am.

Members are responsible for their children and any guests.
Parents should accompany juniors on The Priory’s premises. Without parents, junior members may:
• Participate in Club-sponsored tennis events, including lessons
• Use the pool while a lifeguard is in attendance, if they are qualified swimmers.

Dogs are not permitted on the premises.

Tennis Courts

Courts are restricted to usage by members and their accompanied guests.  Hard or black rubber sole shoes are not to be worn on the courts.  Skateboards, roller skates and bicycles are not allowed on the court surface.  Courts are to be used only for tennis and pickleball play.  Play time is limited to one hour for singles or doubles if members are waiting to play.  Special rules apply to use of the ball machine; discuss with Moses prior to use.

4

Pool

A junior member who is under 16 years old will not be permitted in the pool area unless:  a. A lifeguard is on duty and the junior member satisfactorily passes a swimming pool safety test
administered by the lifeguard, if requested by the lifeguard; or
b. The junior member is accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Members must always lock the gate when they are done using the pool, unless the lifeguard is on duty.  Glass containers are not allowed in the pool area.
